RAMA Newsletter Vol. 61

Are You Ready for Rochester’s Largest Halloween Party?!?!

We’re putting it on! Plus, did you win our contest??

I’m excited to announce that we now have monitors and sound bars in our lesson rooms. Using the ROKU app, you can now bring in your device with music you want to work on and it can be played on the monitor and sound bar.

No other music school in Rochester is doing this and it’s a fantastic way to learn. Lyric videos can be used for voice lessons, scrolling tab can be used for guitar lessons, click images for drum lessons, and so much more.

Also, we will be adding another lesson room and converting room 1 into additional lobby area. Toys, books, another TV monitor, and additional seating will be placed in there. It’ll be a fun room for kids and families.

I’ve always wanted to make RAMA into something more than just a normal music school. And that’s what we’ll keep doing.

I hope you love it! – Thanks, Brannon

Interview with Matt B.

How have you liked your experience with music lessons for 10 years?
Matt: I loved it. All the people at the academy are great and it’s a good environment.

How have music lessons changed your life?
Matt: They have given me a sense of commitment and to stick to things even when they’re not easy.

What advice do you have for students with far less experience than you?
Matt: Play the music you enjoy. This will help grow your passion. Just stick with it like I have and keep practicing.

Pet of the month

Meet Louie!

Louie is a quite the sportsman. He enjoys playing hockey with dropped ice cubes, soccer with bouncy balls and volleyball with any toy the boys will throw to him.  Louie is a quiet cat, rarely making a noise, except for when he pounds on bedroom doors for his family to wake up and feed him if they sleep too late. Louie is five years old, but came into our life two years ago when we adopted him from Lollipop Farms. We're pretty sure he was destined to be a part of our family.

Submit a picture of your pet for RAMA’s Pet of the Month and get a $10 gift card if your
pet is chosen.

Howlin' Halloween Family Bash

We are starting are annual fundraiser for Nuts for Mutts Dog Rescue. This will lead up to our Halloween Party on October 21st.

In the last 3 years, we have raised over $13,000 for this cause.

We love dogs & other animals!

Student of the Month August: Natalie!

Natalie is a great student who takes guitar, piano, and voice lessons! She always participates in the recitals, and loves coming to her lessons!

-How long have you been taking lessons?
Three years

-What is your favorite music?
Classical music, particularly Bach & Mozart

-What are your other hobbies?
Soccer, math club, downhill skiing

-What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned in lessons so far?
Learning to control my tempo & not rush, so it's a more musical pace. Now I don't just breeze through songs, I start at a slow tempo and work my way up. It helps a lot with practicing.

-What do you like about your teacher?
The teachers are really fun & let you choose songs you want to do.

Heading towards Maximum Capacity

Back in May, we reached our highest total enrollment of 500 students!

In June, enrollment increased to 520!

Our current maximum capacity is 600 students, and we’ll be reaching that number very soon.

Once we do, we’ll be putting inquiring and returning students on a waiting list.

To counter-act this as best as we can, we are offering morning, lunchtime, early afternoon lessons, and Sunday lessons. If one of these times would work for you, please let us know. Availability is limited.

Thanks to all of our students and families who have made our school such a success. You are awesome!
