WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR GUITAR LESSONS?

This question is often asked by prospective students. Our guitar teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level, becoming familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.

We do not treat every guitar student the same in terms of how we teach.

A seven year old playing guitar for the first time will have very different needs than a fifty-seven year old taking up guitar lessons for the second time after having taken lessons as a child.

The main reason to choose the Academy as your music lesson provider is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual. If you enroll here for guitar lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first guitar lesson, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or for your child.

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH IN YOUR GUITAR LESSONS?

Our guitar teachers are skilled in all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues, and classical.

GUITAR LESSONS
(ages 5 and up)

Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country, and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading, and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that in each guitar lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, while you always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. To accomplish this, we use a custom guitar method book and we encourage students to bring CDs or their iPods to their guitar lessons, so that they can learn their favorite tunes.

ARE YOUR GUITAR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?

Our guitar teachers have received their educations from prestigious institutions such as the Eastman School of Music, Berklee College of Music, Oxford University, Oberlin College, and more. Plus, they have professional performing experience. Many of our instructors have gone on singing tours of the US and Europe and have over 20 years of performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, and are extremely friendly!

We offer flexible scheduling for our voice lessons between the hours of:

11:00am and 9:00pm Monday through Thursday,
11:00am to 7:00pm on Fridays,
10:00am to 7:00pm on Saturdays

$33.00 per 30 minute private music lesson held once a week. Recommended for children, teens, and adults.

$66.00 per 60 minute private music lesson held once a week. Recommended for the serious student.
